NEWS12 WESTCHESTER: A two-car accident on the Hutchinson River Parkway in the Bronx left a 50-year-old man dead. (Sept. 27, 2012)

A deadly accident in the Bronx is snarling traffic back into Westchester on Thursday.

A Jeep traveling south on the Hutchinson River Parkway on Thursday morning between exits 4 and 5 struck a guardrail and hit another car, causing both vehicles to crash into the woods. The second car's driver, a 50-year-old man, was killed, police said.

The Jeep's driver, age 20, was taken to Jacobi Medical Center with injuries that are not life-threatening.

The investigation has closed two lanes and backed traffic all the way into Mount Vernon.
