Formerly known as Gallo Tropical, this attractive dining spot does justice to the forthright flavors of Colombia. Try the refreshing shrimp seviche and crisp empanadas, with some of owner Dave Bustamente's original avocado sauce on the side. Another original: creamy 5-milk flan.

 At this newly expanded Patchogue Colombian spot, French windows open onto the downtown street scene. Inside, co-owner Dave Bustamante enthusiastically explains the cuisine to newcomers. The well-burnished rotisserie chicken is especially good daubed with Bustamante's avocado sauce, a sassy chile-spiked puree. Try the arroz con pollo, a winning dish reminiscent of Chinese fried rice. For dessert, the house specialty, five-milk flan, offers an appropriately cool, creamy conclusion.
