Off the Wall admits to being a nerd.

GET YOUR NERD ON. Those geeky guys who go for sci-fi, horror, comics and cult stuff are back in "The Nerdist: Comic-Con" (Saturday night at 9 p.m., BBC America). Their visit to San Diego's recent extravaganza finds host Chris Hardwick dressed in Tenth Doctor pinstripes from "Doctor Who" (which just happens to have a 6 a.m.-7 p.m. season 5 marathon leading into tonight's 7-11 p.m. "Nerdist" block). A second fresh "Nerdist" episode at 10 plays with toys and games. Lots more at

NO MONSTER, NO FAIRY TALE OK, what's going on at Syfy? Their latest Saturday night popcorn flick sounds downright seeeerious. Malcolm McDowell stars in "The Philadelphia Experiment" (Saturday at 9 p.m., Syfy), in which a secret team revives the World War II title project for a cloaking device to make warships invisible. But all they do is bring back a ship from 1943! Also featured: Michael Pare from 1984's time-tripping film of the same name. Preview at

AGAINST THE OLYMPICS Rare is the channel that pits potent programs against the big quadrennial games. But a few brave cablers do mount counterprogramming assaults. Military Channel runs special themed nights Sunday through Aug. 9, starting with some days that made history (lineup includes "Surviving D-Day" Sunday 8-10 p.m.) and battles in Europe ("World War II in Color" Monday at 8 p.m., all on Military). Over at ABC Family, they've got another Campus Crush event, Monday through Aug. 8. Expect 10 days of youthful marathons, movies and fresh episodes of series like "The Secret Life of the American Teenager" and "Bunheads" (Monday at 8 and 9 p.m., ABC Family). And SOAPnet delivers "General Hospital's Gold Medal Moments" (weeknights at 8) through Aug. 10, featuring fan-voted favorite episodes (best wedding, supercouple, back-from-the-beyond, etc.). Event programs detailed at,,

URBAN LEGENDS They're everywhere, from the microwave to the silver screen. "Most Outrageous Hollywood Urban Legends" (Sunday at 10 a.m., Bio) looks at the silly stuff said about celebs and moviemaking. And then there's the series "Urban Legends" (Wednesday 8 a.m.-3 p.m., Syfy), where each episode tells three tall tales, only one of which is true. Watch those at

CLOO CLASSICS Wallow in tube nostalgia all week thanks to the cool folks at Cloo. Look at the lineup of 24-hour marathons -- Richard Dean Anderson as whiz "MacGyver" (Monday from 6 a.m.), William Shatner as cop "T.J. Hooker" (Tuesday from 6 a.m.), the original 1970s "Charlie's Angels" (Wednesday from 6 a.m.), and Mike Connors' two-fisted private eye "Mannix" (Thursday from 6 a.m.). That's followed by a day of assorted sitcoms, including "Get Smart," "The Odd Couple" and "Taxi" (Friday from 6 a.m., all on Cloo). Full list at
