Actor Alan Cumming has written a children’s picture book, “The Adventures of Honey and Leon” (Random House, $17.99), inspired by his two dogs.

Cumming’s husband, Grant Shaffer, drew the illustrations for the story of how the two fictional rescue mutts secretly (or so they think) follow their two dads on a business trip.

At 7:30 p.m. Sept. 18, Cumming will be at the Cinema Arts Centre, 423 Park Ave., Huntington, for a screening of his grown-up film, “The Anniversary Party,” but he will also sign copies of the children’s book.

Each ticket holder for the $75 event will get a free copy of the book. For more information, call 631-423-7611.
