Meet American Girl’s 2015 Girl of the Year doll: Grace Thomas, a 9-year-old who is an avid baker with an entrepreneurial spirit. She is motivated to follow her dream of starting a baking business after a trip to Paris.

Available for only one year, the 18-inch Grace doll -- with long, dark-brown hair and blue eyes -- will launch with two books written by Mary Casanova that tell her story, and a variety of accessories, including French-inspired outfits, a French Bakery Set with more than 60 pieces, and much more. A full-length movie will debut on DVD from Universal Studios Home Entertainment in summer 2015.

Additionally, to further Grace's inspirational message for girls, American Girl has created "For Goodness, Bake!" -- a yearlong fund-raising initiative in support of No Kid Hungry, the campaign to end childhood hunger in America from Share Our Strength. The campaign encourages girls to host bake sales for charity and donate the proceeds to No Kid Hungry. For every $1 a girl raises, No Kid Hungry can connect a child with 10 additional meals.

There will also be Grace-inspired events throughout the year, including French baking classes for girls in March at more than 50 Sur La Table locations. The two-hour classes will offer hands-on instruction on how to make French pastries. A free online journal and a paid app, designed to help girls unlock the secrets to making French pastries, will also be launching.
