First comes love, then comes marriage -- and “Bachelorette” couple Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenbaum must know what comes next, according to the famed rhyme.
The couple -- whose wedding is scheduled to air as a two-hour special on ABC at 9 p.m. on Dec. 16 --says they aren’t yet planning for pregnancy and childbirth.
Too bad, as those events would surely bring them more frequently to Long Island so their offspring could see the paternal grandparents: Rosenbaum was raised in Roslyn and his mom and dad still live in the same home.
“I think we still have so much to do before we start thinking about that,” says Hebert, who still is completing her pediatric dental residency in Philadelphia. The duo told Newsday that they do, however, joke around about how many kids they eventually want. “One girl,” says Hebert. Counters Rosenbaum: “Two boys.”
What does J.P. think will be Ashley’s quirkiest trait as a mom and vice versa? Both cite evidence based on interactions with their Yorkshire terrier Boo, who lives with them in their home in Princeton, N.J.
“Ashley is going to speak to our kids exactly how she speaks to our dog,” Rosenbaum. jokes. “Bachelorette” fans may remember Hebert demonstrating her high-pitched doggy voice on one of her Season 7 episodes.
Hebert thinks Rosenbaum will be the disciplinarian. “I like to feed my dog table scraps to make him happy,” Hebert says. Rosenbaum refuses to coddle Boo that way. “Tough love,” Hebert predicts.
