‘Barbie Star Light Adventure’ coming to Long Island theaters

Barbie shoots into space in “Barbie Star Light Adventure,” a one-day movie event at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 30 at the Farmingdale Multiplex Cinemas, 1001 Broadhollow Rd., Farmingdale; Stony Brook 17, 2196 Nesconset Hwy., Stony Brook and Island 16 Cinema De Lux, 185 Morris Ave., Holtsville.

In the movie, Barbie is a cosmic princess who flies on her hoverboard with her pet sidekick, Pupcorn. One day, the twinkling stars start to dim so Barbie travels to a new planet to join a special rescue team to save the stars.

The nationwide event, presented by Mattel and Fathom Events, will include an interview with a NASA astronaut and singalong videos of “Firefly” and “Shooting Star.”

Tickets can be purchased at or at participating theater box offices. They are $12.50 or $13.50 each, depending on the theater.
