For kids, there’s nothing like seeing imagination come to life.
On October 18, volunteers from three different organizations are set to do just that when they construct a playground at Bay Shore’s Great South Bay YMCA using designs created by the children who play there.
The playground will be built as a part of “Project ReBuild,” an effort led by financial company BNP Paribas to help restore communities that were impacted by superstorm Sandy last October. The company has also partnered with KaBOOM, a non-profit dedicated to providing places to play within walking distance of every child in the U.S.
The construction is only expected to take one day, allowing the more than 500 kids who frequently use the playground to start sliding and swinging right away.
Volunteers from YMCA, BNP Paribas and KaBOOM will be on site to help with the project, but you can help too. Click here for more information and to sign up online.
