I could fall down a flight of stairs, and however curious and caring my son might be, he might barely ask if I’m OK. That’s usually when he’s in a Minecraft fog, playing intensely on his laptop or iPod Touch.

But this wasn’t the case when I told him last week that a Minecraft movie is coming out.

“Cool!” he said. Then the “stack” of questions came (for those of you not paying attention when your kid, like mine, turns into a Minecraft zombie — that means a lot.)

“When is it coming out? Will it be like the Lego movie?” the 10-year-old asked.

I told him that I didn’t know, but that it looked like it will be turned into a major motion picture.

“Is it going to be like a video game or is it going animated?” he went on. “Or is it going to be a movie with actors?”

Based on his reaction, I have a feeling the producers will be mining a lot of diamonds.
