A free workshop for parents worried about their childrens' weight is being offered at 7 p.m. Monday at the North Shore Child & Family Guidance Center, 480 Old Westbury Rd., Roslyn Heights.

Dr. Ronald Feinstein, a pediatrician who is director of the weight management program at Cohen Children's Medical Center, will offer advice on how to treat childhood obesity and how to keep kids from becoming obese.

Feinstein will discuss such ideas as the 5, 2, 1, 0 daily guideline -- that children older than 3 should be eating five servings a day of fruits and vegetables, watching fewer than two hours of non-academic screen time, engaging in at least one hour of physical activity and drinking zero sugary drinks.

Registration is suggested because space is limited; call 516-626-1971 ext. 370.
