Kids who are foodies may be interested in watching the documentary “What’s on Your Plate?” and then joining in an optional vegetarian sushi-making workshop Saturday at Cinema Arts Centre in Huntington.

“What’s on Your Plate?” is a 74-minute film that educates kids on where their food comes from, food politics and more. Filmed over the course of one year, it follows two 11-year-old city kids who talk to food activists, farmers and storekeepers.

The movie, which begins at 11 a.m., is free for children 12 and younger and $12 per adult. The sushi-making workshop, run by natural food chef Bhavani Jaroff of I Eat Green, is $8 for children 12 and younger and $10 per adult.

Advance registration is requested at cinemaartscentre.org or by visiting the box office. For more information on the event, which is co-sponsored by Slow Food North Shore, call 631-423-7611. Cinema Arts Centre is located at 423 Park Ave.
