Cooking classes for kids on Long Island

Do you have a budding chef on your hands? If so, you're in luck. There are many places on Long Island where children and teens can bake their favorite sweets, prepare a full meal and learn basic cooking techniques. So grab your chef's hat and apron and check out one of these cooking classes for kids in Nassau and Suffolk.

All classes are hands-on and most present a full meal. Classes start at $49 per person, per class, or $119 for the ones you can take with your children.

  • Little Chefs in Port Washington offers cooking classes

    Little Chefs 9 Soundview Marketplace Port Washington Cooking classes typically run 10 weeks for about $395 with a $35 registration and insurance fee. They range from classes for 3- and 4-year-olds called “Cooking With Colors, Shapes and Numbers” to classes in international cooking for 10- to 14-year-olds. Cooking clubs grouped by age meet once a month, September through June, for the same fee. One-time holiday classes are $55.

They also offer a pastry making/cake decorating (with a healthy twist) class which is $22.

You can also find parent/child workshops where you'll be introduced to cooking techniques and menus the whole family will love, for example, cream of tomato soup with grilled cheese croutons, Swedish meatballs with noodles, roasted carrots and homemade ice cream.
