Attention budding actors and actresses: Ballet Long Island in Ronkonkoma may be looking for you. This month, the studio is hosting open auditions for the Disney’s ‘Aladdin Jr.’ youth musical.

The classic Disney movie is set in Agrabah, the City of Enchantment and follows Aladdin, Jasmine, Iago, Jafar and the Genie on magical, musical adventure. Aladdin, a street urchin, falls in love with the beautiful Princess Jasmine. But when the Sultan demands that she must choose a husband by the next day, Aladdin and the evil Jafar fight it out for Jasmine’s love. With a little help from the Genie, Aladdin wins Jasmine’s hand in marriage.

Auditions will be held on Wednesday Jan. 13 and Jan. 27 at 6:30 p.m. Actors of all ages are encouraged to audition. Be sure to prepare a short vocal selection, a monologue and be ready to do some basic dancing. If cast there is a $35 script fee and actors must help sell a minimum of 4 tickets. The performances will be held on Friday, May 6 at 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, May 7 and 8 at 1 p.m.
