Head to the Broadway Mall in Hicksville on Saturday for free popcorn, a dance party and more.

Doc Popcorn is celebrating the grand opening of its new kiosk at the mall, offering fresh-popped kettle-cooked popcorn for the first time in Hicksville. The popcorn is made in 100 percent corn oil and whole-grain kernels with flavors runing from Cheesy Cheddar and Sweet Butter to Caramel Bliss and Hoppin’ Jalapeno. The popcorn is gluten-free and nut-free and there are dairy-free and suger-free options.

“My wife Suzanne and I, along with our partner Maria, are truly enjoying every moment at our first Doc Popcorn location and we are so excited to bring Doc Popcorn to the Broadway Mall in our hometown,” said David Beck, owner and Long Island-native. “It feels great to provide such a tasty yet better-for-you snack to the communities on Long Island.”

The event will be located in the H&M wing across from American Eagle Outfitters from noon to 8 p.m. Small bags of popcorn will be given out while supplies last from 1 to 3 p.m. Other activities include face painting from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m., a photo booth, a DJ dance party, temporary tattoos for kids, balloons, and giveaways and free samples throughout the day.
