Actor Eddie Redmayne, who played Newt Scamander in the movie “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” reads aloud the Hogwarts library book of the same name in an audio book recently released.
The audio book, which is an A to Z compilation of magical beasts, features six new beasts, including the Thunderbird and a new foreword by “Harry Potter” author J.K. Rowling writing as Newt Scamander.
“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” is a fictional Hogwarts library book, which is distinct from “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: The Original Screenplay,” which was released as an eBook and in print in 2016.
While both were written by J.K. Rowling, the original screenplay is the authentic screenplay of the feature film, published to coincide with the movie release in November 2016. The new edition is an expansion of the Hogwarts library book that first appeared as the title of one of Harry Potter’s school books within the Harry Potter novels. The original version was published by Bloomsbury Children’s Books, Scholastic and Pottermore along with “Quidditch Through the Ages” in March 2001 in aid of Comic Relief.
The digital audio book will be sold for $14.95 at The Pottermore Shop, Audible on pottermore.com, as well as all digital audio retailers.
