If you're heading on a road trip this summer with your kids and don't want to hear “Are we there yet?” over and over and over again, it's a good idea to stock the car with fun activities to keep them busy.

There are many books that make great road trip reads because they aim to keep children engaged and happy. “Activity books are perfect for backseat sharing and can provide hours of entertainment,” said Seira Wilson, editor of books at “Road-trip-themed picture books allow the youngest passengers to feel included while audio books can make car time, quality time.”

Books such as “Mad Libs on the Road,” by Roger Price and Leonard Stern (Price Stern Sloan; $3.99) and “The Lorax Doodle Book," (Golden Books; $5.99) offer entertainment for the whole family.
