Beginning June 8, GAALS: Girls Athletics and Life Skills is kicking off a series of workshops called “GAALS on the Move” geared to helping girls make the transition either to kindergarten or to middle school.

The series will help ease feelings of anxiety, boost life skills, give the girls tools to help overcome problems and more.

Both series have four workshops, two taking place before the start of the school year and two happening after school starts.

There are several sessions available for each of the four workshops at varying locations, with the first possibility beginning June 8 at 2 p.m. for kindergartners at Temple Beth Israel, 1 Temple Dr. in Port Washington. Visit the website for the entire schedule and locations.

The cost is $250 and includes a complementary workshop for parents with a licensed social worker who will answer questions and offer tips, says Dawn Berkowitz-Ader, founder and president of GAALS.
