Haunted Skies, a seasonal show created by the staff of the Vanderbilt Planetarium, has returned for Halloween. Visitors will travel to the ancient past to uncover the legends and rituals of Halloween, enhanced by eerie atmospheric music and chilling images from vintage paintings.
The show is described as “spine-tingling” and is recommended for ages 8 and older. The 30-minute show is at 2 and 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays and 8 p.m. Saturday through Nov. 1.
Daytime planetarium shows require general Vanderbilt museum admission ($7 for adults, $6 for students with IDs and seniors 62 and older, and $3 for children 12 and under), plus $5 each for a planetarium show. Nighttime planetariums shows — when the rest of the museum complex is closed — are $9 for adults, $8 for students with IDs and seniors 62 and older, and $7 for children 12 and under. The planetarium is at 180 Little Neck Road in Centerport.
