Check out the work of more than 40 high school art students from six Long Island schools through March 19 at the Main Street Gallery, 213 Main St., Huntington.

“High Arts Showcase XII” is an exhibition opportunity for students who attend high schools in Cold Spring Harbor, Harborfields, Huntington, Northport-East Northport, Plainview/Old Bethpage and South Huntington. The schools are part of the Huntington Arts Council’s JOURNEY program. The pieces are by 11th- and 12th-graders working in watercolor, digital photography, sculpture, mixed media, colored pencil and more.

JOURNEY is a multicultural arts-in-education program developed in partnership with school districts in an effort to foster the appreciation of cultural diversity through the arts.

This is a free event. The gallery is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and noon to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. For more information, call 631-271-8423.
