"Pins on a Map: A Family's Yearlong Journey Around the World" (Reedy Press, $16.95) by David Boesch is the story of an emergency room physician from Mesa, Ariz., who took his wife and three children, ages 7, 10 and 13, on a yearlong trip around the world, including Africa, India and Thailand.


"Fat Family/Fit Family: How We Beat Obesity and You Can Too" (Plume Books, $15) by Ron, Becky, Mike and Max Morelli begins with Ron and his son, Mike, 18, being cast as contestants on "The Biggest Loser" and dropping 400 pounds combined. At home, Becky and son Max later followed their lead.


"Daddy's Little Goalie: A Father, His Daughters & Sports" (Andrews McNeel, $19.99) by Robert Strauss is a breezy memoir about guiding two daughters as they played sports from coed T-ball and soccer to being recruited for college crew.
