Kidsday's Halloween costume fashion show

At the Charles E. Walters Elementary School in Yaphank, we had the first Kidsday Halloween costume fashion show.

The kids who participated were Carol Theisen’s fourth-grade class and Kathleen Thornton and Deborah Montemurro’s second-grade class. Everyone’s costume was fabulous! The homemade costumes looked like store-bought costumes.

I was paired up with Nate Mendez, who was a vampire, and I was a vampire fairy.

My favorite homemade costume was Brianna Sanchez’s. She was Mother Nature. She and her mom took a dress that was green and white and turned it into a Mother Nature costume. She had a crown made out of leaves. The dress had sewn-on leaves, butterflies, and flowers.

My favorite store-bought costume was Tinkerbell. It was adorable! It was cute because Dove Sieglinger, who was wearing the costume, was just right. It looked so cute on her!

We even had an emcee. Our classmate, Evan Houck, introduced all the kids wearing costumes and said something about us as we walked down our fashion runway.

I felt nervous at first to parade down the runway in front of my classmates, but I was very happy I did it. I felt like I was famous! It was totally awesome! At the end, we had a parade and we had lots of pictures taken of all of us. I loved it and had a great time. This was the best day ever! I would like to do it again!

The store-bought costumes came from Spirit Costumes and Disguise Costumes for Jakks Pacific.
