We recently interviewed actress Peyton List, who is in the movie, "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules," in Manhattan.

Who is your favorite actor/actress and why?

My favorite actress is probably Angelina Jolie. I really love the action movies that she does. I would always love to be a part of an action movie, stunts, hang on wires. That would be kind of cool.

What month is your birthday and what do you do to celebrate?

I’m actually a spring baby in April so I have a twin brother too as you know so I usually have slumber parties, also went to Disneyland and that was a lot of fun because you get like a birthday pin and you get to go around with them.  So I had a great time with that.

What is your favorite role so far and why?

Well I definitely think Holly Hills is my favorite role. It was like summer camp. There were so many kids on the set and I was always hanging out with them. Going swimming, dinner and I made a lot of friends, but since they knew each other from the first movie I was kind of nervous to go into it and not really knowing anyone. They were really cool, and accepting me and I made a lot of friends and they accepted me on the first day.

Who do you look up to and why?

I look up to my mom.  She was a model when she was younger. So when I was little I sort of looked up to that.  That’s where I first started; I started out modeling and then I got into commercials and movies. I kind of looked up to her for that.

Do you get time to spend with your family?

I spend a lot of time with my family. Sometimes I am away from them, like I was away from them for three months and that was really hard being away from my brothers and my dad. But we do spend a lot of family quality time. On the weekends we go biking if it’s nice out, or we hang out and watch a movie. We do a lot of good stuff.

What is your favorite scene in the movie?

My favorite scene in the movie was probably when I got to shoot in the roller skating rink because I got to learn to roller skate. I never skated before. A private teacher would come and the whole process took a whole time together learning how to roller skate and that was a lot of fun. Get to do tricks and in between takes get to roller skate with everyone. I like that a lot.

How long have you’ve been acting and what was your first role?

I’ve been acting since I was about 4. My first role in a movie was “27 Dresses” with Katherine Heigl. I played her as a child.

Is filming your fun thing to do?

Yeah, filming movies I’ve always loved it. It’s my favorite thing to do. You get to meet new people, I get to experience a new character and when I’m in that character I feel like I’m in a different world and get to experience a different person and it’s really a cool feeling.

Do you have any other talents and if so, what are they?

I love to sing and I love to dance. I’m also very athletic. I always bike, like I said before, I play a lot of basketball with my brother. Actually my dad use to coach us in basketball when we were in elementary school. So I had fun with that.

What is your favorite movie?

I always liked "The Princess Diaries." I always watched it.

What was a typical day on the movie set?

Well everyone was always goofing around every single day. We’d always hang out. If we could we’d go out to dinner at night or go swimming after we were done filming. We’d always play pranks on each other on the set.  It was just a lot of fun and we goofed around a lot.

Do you have any other hobbies?

As I said before I love sports, I love getting outside and I love to dance. I take tap, jazz, ballet, hip hop. I take so many dance classes.

What do you do in your free time?

I love to draw. I’m not the best artist, but I love writing. I love English. That’s my favorite subject in school.

Did you read the “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” books?

Before I found out I had gotten the part of Holly Hills in the movie, I read all the books. When I found out I was going to audition for Holly Hills I was really excited.

If you could be in any movie, what movie would you pick and why?

Well my favorite movie is “The Princess Diaries.” I would probably like to do a remake of that or like I said before I would like to be in an action movie. I would like to be like a super hero in a movie or a princess of some kind. It would be fun.

What inspired you to become an actress?

When I was 4 we first moved to New York and it was the summer time and my mom took me to about 10 Broadway shows and I remember just loving it. I couldn’t get enough of them. I told my mom that’s what I want to be when I grow up.

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Florida. A lot of my family lives there now so I always go visit them.

How did you feel when you found out you got the role of Holly Hills?

I was so excited. I remember I asked my mom, “Have you heard anything about the 'Wimpy Kid' movie because I was so excited that I have gotten down so far.   I was asking a 100 times a day.  She called Terry, my manager, she told me I booked it. I remember started screaming, jumping up and down, I just couldn’t wait to start shooting.

Did you watch the first movie?

Yeah I did. I first saw that movie when I was flying out to L.A. and I didn’t even know I was going to audition for it yet. I watched it on the airplane. So it was a really big coincidence.

How do you go to school?

That’s a good question. I actually go to a charter school that’s on line.  I have a tutor that comes about twice a week and he helps me out and when I was in Bloomington I had to learn on set. They had a school trailer and all the kids and I were in there together.
