This fall, if you're looking for something to do, you might consider a visit to the Jericho Cider Mill. It is a great place to visit in the fall because apples are in season and at their juiciest. The Mill is open every day, September through December.
It sells a lot of homemade apple cider and a large number of baked goods including pies, cookies, muffins and crisps. The store is especially busy near Thanksgiving Day.
The Cider Mill started around 1820. We were told that they get the apples from different places, including the Hudson Valley, depending on the time of the year.
One of the unique drinks served by the Mill is its Frapple, a frozen, slushy made from their own apple cider.
We had a lot of fun visiting the apple cider mill and we learned a lot. If you want to have a happily appley fall day, you should definitely checkout the Jericho Cider Mill. It is located on Route 106 in Jericho. Call 516-433-3360.
