Let’s face it, not every day is going to be sunny and warm for play. Or maybe you like to read at the beach or pool. Here are some books and book series where the books can be more than just words on a page. Make those words come to life and create your own adventures! Here are just three books and book series where you can create your own adventure story.

“I Funny” (Little, Brown and Company) by James Patterson and Chris Grabenstein. Jamie Grimm’s dream is to be a standup comedian. Create and perform your own comedy show with your friends. See who can think of the funniest jokes!

“Alice in Wonderland” (Norton Critical Editions) by Lewis Carroll. Alice falls into a hole and discovers a new world. Discover your own world by going into your backyard with a magnifying glass. You can find all sorts of fun creatures wandering about!

“Divergent” (HarperCollins) by Veronica Roth: Even though she isn’t supposed to be, Tris is Divergent. She doesn’t just belong to one faction, she belongs to many. Act like Tris and don’t just do the fun things you normally do, go out and try something different, like making a new friend. Step out of your comfort zone for a while. Maybe you’ll learn something new!
