Have you ever thought about how old we should be to hang out in town without parents?
I surveyed fourth-graders at my school. I wanted to find out how old we should be to be able to go out in town alone. Here is what I found out: Kids were divided over two ages, 15 or 11. Some kids felt we need to be a lot more mature and that is why 15 was chosen. Other kids thought 11 was better because we wouldn’t really be alone, we would be with our friends. And it seems everyone knows everyone in Sayville, so it is a very safe community. Good luck convincing your parents!
