Apple picking at Milk Pail farm in Watermill

Are you the type of person who loves farms and apple picking? If you are, you should go to the Milk Pail Fresh Market & U-Pick, at 50 Horsemill Lane, Water Mill. The farm was built in 1972. We asked owner John Halsey for information about the farm. This is one of our favorite places to visit in the fall.

We found out their busiest time of year is September and October because it is when most people think of apples and pumpkins. They are open year-round. They work in the orchard 365 days a year. Their most popular foods are apples and peaches. Things they have in September are 12 varieties of apples, three varieties of Asian pears, three types of European pears, peaches, apple cider, fall flowers and plants.

They make their own apple cider doughnuts. We got to try them while we were there. For information go to milk-pail.com.
