This book is called “Big Nate Goes Bananas!” by Lincoln Peirce (Andrews McMeel). Nate can’t wait for summer vacation. He’s a silly boy who’s trying to stay out of trouble before summer vacation begins.

My favorite character was Big Nate. He’s very funny and kept me laughing as I read the story. The characters felt real to me because they were like my friends and me. The story kept me guessing what silly things were next. My favorite part of the book is when Nate tells his friend a yellow banana is disgusting and that he’s not like the rest of the world. Nate’s common sense is the opposite of what makes sense.

The book was hilarious, especially when Chad explained that “slip through the cracks” means not being noticed by the teacher. Chad looks for the cracks. He doesn’t want the teacher to notice him.

If you are looking for a laugh, then this book is for you. I recommend it to young readers. It’s an easy comic strip book to read.
