Board games are making a comeback

Even in today's digital age, board games are making a comeback. Recently we began playing board games such as Scrabble, Monopoly and Life.

In the wonderful game of Scrabble, you can have fun and learn new vocabulary. You have to strategize where to place words and it also improves your spelling. You don't just get better at English, you can improve your math skills, too, because you will need to keep track of scores that include doubling and tripling letter and word values. You will be having so much fun playing this game that you won't realize you are also learning.

Playing Monopoly is also a lot of fun, at the same time very intense. This game brought out the competitive side of everyone as we bartered to build a monopoly.

Lastly, we enjoyed the game of Life because of the outcomes, such as going to college, getting a job and having a family.

Board games are a great way to bond with your family. It also might be a fun thing to do on a rainy summer day when you do not have any electronics. It guarantees you will talk to each other rather than just looking at a screen. Reconnect with your friends and family. Play a board game.
