Book review: ‘The Buccaneers’ Code,’ a fun novel about pirates

Credit: Harper Books

I read the amazing adventure book, “The Very Nearly Honorable League of Pirates: The Buccaneers’ Code,” by Caroline Carlson (Harper).

This story was about a pirate named Hilary who was talked into fighting the Very Nearly Honorable League of Pirates’ president, Captain Rupert Blacktooth, by her friend Claire to help her become Enchantress and to try to become the president herself. She had a couple of crew members to assist her in battle, but she needed a whole lot more than that. She goes on a trip to find all the pirates she needs. Nobody wanted to talk to or even look at her. With the help of Hilary’s friends and her gargoyle, she found enough crew members to assist in battle.

I would recommend this because it’s action-packed and has something for everyone. The details were amazing; the clips from letters and newspapers were a nice touch. It’s the third book in the series. This was definitely one of the best books I have read in a while.
