What school rules do you want to change?

If you had a chance to become a principal for one day, would you change some of the current rules in school? We would! And we figured other kids might feel the same way. We asked 150 sixth-graders which rule they would like to change, and here are the top four responses:

  • Be allowed to use phones at lunch
  • Be allowed to wear hats in school
  • Be allowed to work on homework in class, if there is free time
  • Be allowed to stick permanent things on lockers and take them off at the end of the year

As you can see, the kids prefer using their phones during lunch. They like being able to go on social media and text their friends during lunch.

The kids who liked to wear hats in school are probably kids who like caps and like sports, or they just want to be warm. The kids who want to do homework in class are probably the kids who want to do other things after school and want to go to extra clubs, or they just want to be done with it. And the kids who want to stick permanent things on lockers and take them off at the end of the year are probably the kids who are creative and love decorating.
