The book "Down the Hill Across the Lake" is an amazing read. I like it so much because I wrote it under the name Hannah Nicole. The story is about a girl, Bonnie, who loves to sit on top of a hill and watch a horse named Swift. This book shows compassion toward everyone and everything. It teaches a great lesson of love.
It was published in April 2014. This past April, for my bat mitzvah project, I went to The Book Revue in Huntington where I requested and was given the opportunity to be one of the youngest local authors to have a book signing/reading to raise money for the Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia Foundation. The money will go toward research to help find a cure for this form of leukemia. The event is June 29 at 7 p.m. at The Book Revue. This is personal to me becaus someone in my family has this cancer. Luckily he is doing "great," but there are a lot of people who aren't. Hopefully there will be a cure. It took a little less than a year to write this book, but I enjoyed working on it. It's illustrated by Randi Mott.
