Every Friday, at 7:30 a.m., Old Mill Road’s News Tech Club meets. The club consists of students in the fifth- and sixth-graders. At the meetings we share ideas about what each of our news segments should be about. We use an iPad to shoot our segments. Some of the segments that we have worked on are joke segments, President’s Corner, classroom events and fun facts. We edit, add sound effects and music through iMovie.

We also interview students from kindergarten through sixth grade. We use the iPad to shoot the interviews. We do not do the interviews during the meeting, though. The interviews are done during the school day. With school starting, this is a great club to join or get started in your school. It is fun to meet the other kids in your school and to read and watch stories about one another, too.
