Disney World makes fun runs even better

At Walt Disney World in Florida, different types of races are held throughout the year. If you like to run, there is a very special marathon weekend event that holds many surprises along the way. You can choose from a marathon, half-marathon, 10k, 5k or 1-mile run, depending on your age and running ability.

The marathon weekend has a lot of fun features. It starts with fireworks to welcome you to the race. You will see stunt people, Disney characters, cheerleading groups, bands, singers, acrobats and DJs. You can even race dressed up in a costume.

In places along the route, you can cut through different buildings like Epcot and Cinderella’s castle and see some really cool props and costumes. At the end of the marathon, runners can win medals and other bling.

Some people prefer to just watch the races. They express concerns that the marathon can feel crowded because the number of runners increases each year. Another problem is that people might not like an early start at 5:30 a.m. or a late start at 10 p.m. The late-night event can be scary because it is so dark inside some of the buildings. Even though there are these concerns, we still think it would be a cool running experience.

Noah ran a 5k with his mom and even beat her in the race! He hopes he is going to do it again in January.

A Disney run is a good way to get some exercise no matter which event you participate in.
