On Wednesday, we had the amazing opportunity to meet JoJo Siwa at the Sugar Factory in Manhattan. What an experience it was! The restaurant was closed to the public but was open to the media and special guests. When we walked in, all we saw was candy, sparkles and glitter, and JoJo’s name everywhere. Everything was decorated in JoJo’s style: bright rainbow colors, sequin flip pillows, white and pink balloons arches, and lots of picture frames with her name written all over them. The room also had a gigantic disco ball made out of golden glass, and a crystal chandelier. It was very fancy. We all received JoJo bows to wear during this event.

Interviewing JoJo was so much fun. She was full of smiles, very energetic and bubbly. We sat on the floor and asked her a few questions about her career and personal life. We learned that she loves recording videos, vlogs, singing and dancing. Her favorite part about recording is having fun with friends and getting to laugh and hang out. When we asked what it is like to work for Nickelodeon, she said it was an awesome company to work for and she feels like a celebrity being on it. We were really interested in her vlogs and videos, so we asked which was her favorite vlog. She said her favorite was baby-sitting Mini Jake Paul at the Team 10 House. We learned that she started vlogging about a year and a half ago.

JoJo makes these very fashionable bows that come in a variety of sizes and colors, so there is one for every age and outfit! Her mom has been putting bows in her hair since she was a little girl and the bows started getting bigger and bigger and as she got older she liked them more and more. Her empire of bows consists of more than 5,000 designs and she has sold more than 30 million of them. That’s a lot of JoJo bows in the world!

If you couldn’t already tell, JoJo is obsessed with sparkles and glitter. “You can never have too many sparkles,” she said. We found out that her mom personally bedazzles a lot of her clothes and shoes. We asked her how she balances her career with her personal life. She said most of her best friends are YouTubers, so they all understand each other’s schedules. Her best friend is Miranda Sings, another YouTuber, and they give each other advice and understand what each other is going through. She is home schooled, so she has more time to dance and hang out and be a kid! She has a very supportive family, which includes her mom, dad and older brother.

JoJo was at the Sugar Factory to announce that she is going out on tour: “Nickelodeon’s JoJo Siwa D.R.E.A.M. The Tour.” She will be touring for six weeks throughout the United States. For this tour, she will be coming out with her first EP, which is an album that consists of four songs. During her announcement, she let us all watch her new music video, “D.R.E.A.M.,” where she sang about achieving her goals and believing in her future. We loved the video. She then allowed the crowd to ask her some personal questions. The last part of her announcement was very JoJo like, colorful and shiny. Each kid had a confetti popper and when she counted down, everyone popped their confetti into the air. We had a confetti party with JoJo music blasting in the background!

We had an amazing experience meeting JoJo Siwa in person and getting to know her a little bit better. She is a funny, kind, and generous person. She is a role model and inspiration to people everywhere. She wants everyone to try and reach for their dreams. If you are feeling down, JoJo is most likely to cheer you up! We think it very important to share JoJo’s message with all of you, enjoy every second of being a kid — she said she wants to be a kid forever!

JoJo will be at the Beacon Theatre in Manhattan on June 18. For more information, visit:
