Have you ever performed on stage? I have. I sang at Lincoln Center to celebrate Estonia’s 100th year of independence earlier this year.

Singing in a choir is very fun and also very hard to do. My sister and I go to an Estonian school every other Saturday in the fall, and our music teacher was able to arrange for us to sing at Lincoln Center as part of the celebration. I went into Manhattan every Saturday at 9:30 a.m. to practice and didn’t get back home until 6 p.m. I learned to sing the songs in Estonian but it was hard because I am not fluent in that language.

Then it was finally time to sing at Lincoln Center. When we got there, we were extremely nervous and excited. We went on stage and sang. Our songs were about Estonia getting independence. It was an exhilarating feeling to see my family and friends in the audience.

After that, we went to the balcony and watched the adult choir sing. It was a great experience performing and I think everyone should try it when possible.
