for wheelies

Getting new toys is so much fun, and I can't think of many that are as fun as the EXY Trickstartr Stunt Scooter. I took it for a test ride the other day and quickly discovered that this scooter is much different from most others, mainly because of its detachable wheelie tool. The tool is a 6-inch platform with a small wheel on the back that attaches to the rear of the scooter, just before the brake. The wheel is raised off the ground about three inches and helps stabilize the scooter when you pop a wheelie.

Once you catch some speed, you simply put your foot on the platform, lean back a little and gently pull up on the handlebars. Just like that, you're now poppin' wheelies. As an 11-year-old girl, I loved going outside, putting on my helmet and riding up and down my walkway all morning poppin' wheelies. Being able to do the trick made the EXY more fun and interesting to ride than riding a normal scooter. It also was challenging to see how long I could ride the wheelie and how many I could do in one ride. I also got to show off my new tricks to my mom, who I think wanted to try it, judging by the excitement in her eyes.

My first impression when I saw the EXY was, "Wow, this is going to be great." But then I saw screwdrivers, parts and pieces scattered in the box. I got a little scared that I wouldn't be able to put everything together, but after 30 minutes, I finally got it.

The makers of the scooter say it is for ages 5 and older. I thought it should be for ages 9 and older. My 8-year-old sister couldn't control it, and she couldn't do the tricks. I suggest you put the scooter on your gift wish list. Once you get past assembling it, you will want to ride it every chance you get. Other classmates tried it, too, and they liked it as much as I did. Rating: 4.5 smiles
