G.N.A.T. Club

You probably have never heard of a club like this, but I am part of a group called G.N.A.T. Club. G.N.A.T. stands for Graphic Novel Advisor Team. When we meet, we usually do fun activities and talk about graphic novels, which are like long comic books.

We get together at 4:30 p.m. on the first Wednesday of every month at Smithtown Library. Some of the activities we do are color pictures like Iron Man and make cartoon strips our teacher brings for us to use. The next month, we find out who made the best comic strip. Once, we made paper wallets. We also do these polls of who likes what. One time we had to choose which was better, Marvel or DC comics. I chose Marvel.

We have snacks and drinks our teacher gives us. All the kids in the club love it because we can meet new people and talk about novels we love to read like "Big Nate" and "Diary of a Wimpy Kid."

I think every library should have this program. It is great for kids who love to read and talk about the books they enjoy. Right now there are about 20 kids in this group, but I bet it will continue to get bigger.
