Our school likes to help others by holding fundraising events. In October, we held a walk-a-thon. On that day all participants wear pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Before the day you have to get sponsors to sign a sheet with their donation amount. They can donate a certain amount of money per lap or give a single donation. All the money raised goes toward special projects such as making improvements around the school.

Another great fundraiser is Script. If you buy a Script gift card, a certain percentage goes to the school. Gift cards can be purchased throughout the school year. Some of the gift card choices are Stop & Shop, Macy’s, Lord & Taylor and Starbucks.

The best part about buying a Script gift card is that you receive a NUT card, which stands for No Uniform Today and lets you dress casually. Many alumni families continue to support St. Peter’s School with these gift cards. Occasionally, gift cards are sold after Sunday Mass.

Box Tops is another fundraiser at school, and the class that collects the most for the month gets a dress down day. This is a quick, simple fundraiser because the school can earn cash simply by clipping box tops.
