Can you imagine seeing the big city all in one room? Now you can. We went to Ripley's Believe It or Not! in Times Square. This is a museum company with outrageous, unbelievable and cool things. We went to see the new exhibit, which is all about New York City. It is called the Little Apple.
One of the exhibits was the Empire State Building. There was a cutout of the building on the floor, and on the ceiling overhead was a mirror. When you were lying on the floor and looking up at the mirror, it looked like you were hanging off the building. There were people from Ripley's who positioned you in all different ways to make it look like you were falling off the building.
Another exhibit that we all enjoyed looked like the streets of the city. There was a taxicab on the wall and a sound system underneath it. There were different sounds that you could press coming out of a tube. You would put it against the taxicab to make the sound louder. There were all different sounds that you might hear on the streets of the Big Apple.
The last exhibit was the Wallenda Wire. You had to stand on clear glass that made it look like you were walking on a tightrope. We got to experience what it would be like if you were walking on a tightrope in the city. There was wind blowing in your hair, and a city landscape behind you. This exhibit was made because Nik Wallenda, a famous tightrope walker, wanted to walk from the Empire State Building to the Chrysler Building, which are 9,000 feet apart!
This exhibit is amazing and really mimics city life. We recommend this exhibit to all ages. It is entertaining, and you will have a few laughs along the way.
