Helping another student in art, I got the luck of the draw

I love drawing. I think it is my special gift, and I like helping others. I was lucky enough to have my amazing art teacher tell me that I had the opportunity to teach another student how to draw. The kid’s name is Jack. Jack cannot go out to recess like the other kids because he has a heart condition.

I give up my recess every Thursday to teach him how to draw. Sometimes when I make mistakes he helps me fix them.

We draw Christmas trees and pumpkins for the holidays. We also like drawing our favorite sports logo for the Islanders. We even draw pictures for each other in our spare time. Our favorite thing is “free play,” when we can draw whatever we want.

I am so happy I got the opportunity to draw with Jack. Whenever my classmates ask me if I teach Jack, I say no, he teaches me.
