How to have a great school year

Have you ever been nervous about the teacher you will have in the new school year? How will he/she act; what will he/she expect of you? We can help you, but the key is to be prepared.

First, get all your supplies and don't be late to class. Be sure to pay attention and listen to your teacher. The No. 1 rule is to never talk while the teacher is talking. Be sure to bring in all your assignments. Remember, this is not a menu where you get to choose which assignments you want to do.

Study hard for tests; study even when there aren't any tests. This can help you build vocabulary and the extra knowledge you might need for life. Books are good for you. They make you smarter, and reading can be fun.

Math is needed to live. It's in everything and everywhere, too. You need to know how to add, subtract, divide and multiply. Be sure to practice those multiplication tables!

Finally, you must have self-control. Act appropriately and behave in class, at lunch, at recess and on the bus. If you don't, there will be consequences. Plus, you will slowly ruin your own reputation. So, to be successful in fourth grade, try your best and never give up.
