Join the Tri-ing for Kids Turkey Trot

For the past few years, my family has been running the Tri-ing for Kids Turkey Trot in Bay Shore on Thanksgiving morning. Tri-ing for Kids is an organization of athletes that raises money for sick and injured children in need. This run benefits the Michael Racanelli Forever Young Foundation.

This event is for all ages and all types of athletes. It is a 5K run, which is 3.1 miles, around the Brightwaters canal and neighborhood. It is a fun experience because everyone encourages one another to do their best. At the end of the race, there is breakfast and raffles. You also get a shirt for participation. There are no awards and no official times kept but there is a big timer at the finish line. I ran my race in 21:39.

A turkey trot is a great way to spend time with family and get a great workout before your Thanksgiving dinner. See you at the finish line.
