If you haven't been to Rockefeller Center in Manhattan in the winter, you have to put it on your list of fun things to do. We had the best time ice skating at the rink at Rockefeller Center.
Only one of us knew how to ice skate well (Kaleigh), but it didn't matter. We got our skates and headed onto the ice. Dayna and Lia stayed on the side wall for a while, but then Kaleigh taught us how to push off, and we all began skating around. It was so much fun.
There were so many people watching the rink from above, so we tried our best not to fall. There were a lot of people who did fall; some of them fell right in front of us, so we had to quickly move around them.
We had a perfect view of the Christmas tree, the angels and the wooden soldiers surrounding the rink. A couple even got engaged on the ice while we were skating.
After an hour of skating, we were invited into the VIP igloo. It was awesome being a VIP! We drank the best hot chocolate ever. We also got to meet Eric Kaplan, vice president of operations at the Patina Restaurant Group; he runs the ice skating rink and igloo. He told us all about the rink and gave us cookies. It was great to warm up while the Zamboni cleaned the ice. But the best part was when we got to go back on the ice before everyone else; it was so smooth, and we felt so special. We skated for another hour, then left to go home. It is something everyone should do at least once in their lifetime.
And definitely, go big and be a VIP!

But we didn't just go there to skate. We made a day out of it by shopping at 1D World -- the One Direction Pop Up store (2 Penn Plaza) and then visiting the Lego store in Rockefeller Center. The line at the 1D store was like going to their concert. Everyone was excited to get some of the 1D stuff. The store closed Dec. 30.
We played the Wii
Last month at Nintendo World Store at Rockefeller Center, we met stars Debby Ryan from Disney Channel's "Jessie" and Dylan Riley Snyder from Disney XD's "Kickin' It." But that's not all! We were able to try out the new Wii U system with them and play against them in a few games. Watch our video with them: exploreli.com/kidsday.
