LI kids poll: Do you want the same jobs as your parents?

I asked kids in grades three to seven if they wanted to have the same jobs as their parents have right now. Here are my results:

Yes, I want to do what my parents do: 42

No, I want my own career: 137

The “no” results are outstanding! It’s pretty amazing to see that only 42 kids wanted to do what their parents do. Most kids liked what their parents do, but they want to go off in their own direction.

Kids in our school said that they wanted to be a doctor, teacher, nurse, cook, engineer, occupational therapist or architect, get into finance or work for NBC Motor Sports. Remember, do what you want to do.
