We met and interviewed Hayes Grier at the Complex Publishing offices in Manhattan. Hayes Grier is a 16-year-old social media star who got his start on Vine. Vine is an app similar to Instagram, except you can post videos. We talked to him about Vine and he was disappointed that this app was no longer active. He even has compilations of his Vines on YouTube that get thousands of views. Vine was where his fame began, one six-second clip at a time, and he now has a book out. His book, “Hollywood Days with Hayes,” is based off of the app “Episode.” The book is about a girl named Violet who has a crush on Hayes. The book came out earlier this week.

Although Hayes himself admits that he is not much of a reader, he thinks that the Episode app is more exciting because it is interactive. His book is based on his storyline and he seemed thrilled about being the main character in the story. He is excited about this book and thinks that teens will love it, especially his fans.

Hayes also has an unscripted show coming out on the digital channel, go90. The show takes place on his family’s farm in North Carolina. Hayes told us he does things you couldn’t even imagine on his farm and he says it will be fun. When asked what the show would be about, Hayes said it was about his summer on his family’s farm. However, Hayes is not your typical farmer. He says that they will be doing all kinds of crazy things, including riding around on his dirt bike, getting to drive at NASCAR and water sports such as tubing and water skiing. He will have some of his friends on the show as well as his famous siblings and they all have a great time.

Hayes was also on “Dancing With the Stars,” and he was the youngest male contestant ever. He wished that he was the youngest overall. He enjoyed his time on the show and said all of the people were great and he made lifelong friends during his time there. He is a genuinely nice person who is very down to earth. He seems to be enjoying his fame and when asked what famous person he admired he said James Franco. He would someday like to be as good at his craft as James Franco is and he has a lot of respect for him. Everyone should get his book and catch his show.
