Have you ever wondered what it was like being a supermodel? Well, international supermodel Adriana Lima told us all about it. On Sept. 19 we had the opportunity to meet with Adriana at the Gramercy Park Hotel in Manhattan.

In our opinion she is one of the most friendly, intelligent and beautiful women in the world. She is hosting a new show, “American Beauty Star,” on on the Lifetime channel. This production is a series that brings together celebrities, stylists and salon professionals. The celebrities will compete in a series of challenges. They will create fashion looks and use the most current glam trends for the red carpets and runway shows. At the end of the season, only one contestant will be named American Beauty Star. In our conversation with Adriana we discussed her new show, which is scheduled to air tonight on Lifetime at 10:30 p.m.

We asked Adriana some questions about her show. We found out that she is most excited to give opportunity to new talent. Adriana is an extremely altruistic person. Adriana says that it doesn’t matter how pretty you are or what you look like — it’s all about what’s on the inside.

We also asked her what she thought was going to be the next fashion trend for girls or women. Adriana said that she thinks every girl or woman should have their own style and do what they want, and not follow the trends. Adriana let us in on a fun fact, stating that her favorite colors were red, black and white, no matter what the trend.

Adriana said she never set out to be a supermodel; she originally wanted to be in the medical field. She said it all started in Brazil, when she was 16. Her friend asked her if she wanted to enter a beauty contest for a Brazil fashion show. She was originally there to support her friend, but she placed second. Afterward, they called her back for a fashion show, which started her career.

Adriana also happily signed an autograph, and showed us how to do a fashion walk on the catwalk. She advised us to just walk, smile and pose, but most of all, have fun. Then, Adriana let each of us try. This was extremely fun to do.

When she signed autographs, we felt like she knew us for our whole lives, because she made it seem like every autograph that she ever signed she wanted to make special (which was amazing). Overall, we had an extraordinary experience and we felt as if she was one of our close friends. Two of the most memorable quotes that Adriana gave us were: “You do not need to wear make up to be beautiful; the beauty is found within,” and, “Family and friends matter more than your work.” Thank you, Adriana, for your advice, inspiration and patience.
