In the new movie sequel, “Ice Age: Collision Course,” your favorite mammoths are back! Manny, voiced by Ray Romano, Ellie (Queen Latifah), Peaches (Keke Palmer), Julian (Adam DeVine) and many other fun characters try to save the Ice Age World. This movie picks up where the other one left off.

The movie starts with Scrat’s (Chris Wedge) obsession with his acorn; this eventually leads him into space. When chasing after this acorn, this causes him to accidentally start a meteor shower, which endangers the whole world. Buck (Simon Pegg) warns these mammoths and their friends that their extinction is near unless they team up with him to prevent the end of the world. From here, plot twists make the movie viewers uncertain, anxious and excited about what is to happen next.

Family relationships are tested as well as teamwork and friendships. The whole herd actually makes new friends that can be a help to them later in the movie. I love the message that this movie sends out to young and old audiences. Family is forever no matter what, and it is sometimes hard for parents to watch their children grow up, but when they are ready to leave and start their own lives, parents need to let them go. Is the Ice Age World saved? Can these mammoths save it? Does Buck’s plan work? Be sure to see this 5 smiles movie!
