Planting tulips to take a stand against drugs

Photo Credit: Kidsday illustration / Minal Sabir

For Red Ribbon Week our class planted tulip bulbs around the sign near our school. Red Ribbon Week is a national campaign about drug awareness. These tulip bulbs were to represent that our class, 4B, says “NO!” to drugs. We walked out to the sign, took some trowels, dug up small holes, gently planted our bulbs and covered the holes. We have a wonderful feeling in us because we’re taking a stand against drugs.

Perhaps it’s just me. Either way it is very wonderful to know that many people are encouraging others to stop taking drugs (or not to start in the first place) while others are working hard to give up drugs. I’m glad to know that the tulip bulbs are a sign of that.
