Usually everybody has wishes, either for something they have always wanted or a wish for someone else. Sometimes our wishes will not come true, but it’s OK. I asked the fifth-graders if their wishes ever came true.
Came true: 111
Didn’t come true: 42
Some of the wishes were about dogs or an Xbox and a PS4. But the best wishes were with love. One was: “Going to see my family because I haven’t seen them in six years.” Another was: “My wish that is for doctors to find a cure for my sister’s type of cystic fibrosis and the doctors are working on it.” Cystic fibrosis is a disease that affects people’s hearts, lungs and other organs. We are never going to stop wishing for things!
