We met singer and actress Sabrina Carpenter who stars as Maya Hart in the TV series "Girl Meets World." The title track from her EP, "Can't Blame a Girl For Trying," is one of our favorites.

Tell us about your new EP. Did you write any songs and did you plan on releasing an album?

My EP is out on iTunes and I did not write the songs on the EP, but I am releasing an album that's coming out this fall and there are about 13 songs on there that I wrote. I'm very, very excited for everybody to hear them because when writing your own music you can really make your songs your own, make them about yourself, your experiences. It's anything you want to write about. Opportunities are endless, so I love doing that and I'm very excited for everybody to hear them.

Who would you sing with if you could sing with anyone?

I would probably sing with Adele because she's fantastic. I love her music and I could picture it, but it's one of my own dreams.

Do you play any other instrument rather than guitar and your voice?

I play a little bit of piano, too, which I play when I'm doing my live songs right now. I do one from the album it's called "Too Young" and I play piano with that song and I'm constantly learning. I loved to learn more instruments. It's finding time but I hope to learn more.

If you had to choose between singing or acting as a career, what would it be?

I don't think I could ever choose between them. I will say that I started singing first and singing was always something, it's like it was second nature to me. It wasn't like I just always sang, it wasn't like I thought of it as a career, I just thought of it as something that I loved. And then when I found out I could make it a career that was just a plus, but then when I found acting it was one of those things that it was just like an instant connection and so I love both of them. I could never do just one or the other.

In "Girl Meets World," you play Maya Hart, who seems kind of rebellish. What is the craziest thing you have ever done?

So far one of the craziest things she's done is in our pilot episode. She sets off the fire alarms in school and the sprinklers go off and it's quite the mess that she makes. And she does a lot of things even if it's like she messes up in a situation, she causes a lot of spark or she actually literally messes up it will go as far as prank fights and it will go as far as other crazy things.

Have you ever watched "Boy Meets World" to get to know some of the characters you're working with?

I've seen every episode of "Boy Meets World" and that was more of a pleasure thing rather than a study for the show.

What is your favorite part about being an actress and would you want to do this for the rest of your life?

Second question, yes. First question, my favorite part about being an actress would probably have to be there's no limits I guess to what you can do. You can act however you want to be, be whoever you want to be as long as you're being anybody else but you. And that's really cool to be able to explore a different personality for a day or for however long you're working for.

If you could star in a movie with anyone who would you star with?

Probably my favorite actresses and possibly Leonardo DiCaprio. That would be great. He's wonderful. I would do like a 16-year-old Leonardo DiCaprio. [DiCaprio now] could maybe play my dad.

How would you like to be remembered?

I would like to be remembered as I think talented and classy because I do hope that people remember me for talents and the stuff that I work the most hard on and to stay classy like well respected and hopefully humble, and that's what I hope to be because that's what my parents taught me.

What is one of your favorite memories growing up with like your relatives?

I think when we went to Disney World for the first time because I've only been to Disney World once and it was around Christmas time and it was the first family vacation we had in a long time where it was just the five of us. We got to go for like 10 days. It was awesome. It was just such a happy time. It was my dad's birthday and we had the best time.
